Charter fishing trip results in tarpon catch and much more

The day started out like any other. The Slightly Obsessed Sight Fishing Charters crew launched the boat and headed out in search of bait for the day.
Because of the time of year, they knew there would most likely be large amounts of pogies (menhaden) all along the beaches across the Space Coast and can be located on most mornings by the sights and sounds of their "flipping" their tails and jumping on the surface. After locating them, one solid and swift throw of the cast net usually does the trick.
We headed out in search of our target — tarpon.
The giant fish can be seen "rolling" on the surface of the water, and they can be fished with live or artificial baits. The crew chose live, rigging them on a 5/0 circle hook and a 9-10' section of 50-pound fluorocarbon leader, drifting with them behind the boat or trolling them.
After seeing a few fish, we decided to stop and drift. It wasn't long before the first silver king was airborne; jumping and thrashing as it put on an amazing show. We were lucky to land one of the two fish that was in the 80- to 100-pound class fish we hooked and also a very large jack crevalle in the same drift.
