The Coin of the Realm is Action FEBRUARY 16, 2014 BY TOM SADLER 3 COMMENTS “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” -Edmund Burke Readers of the conservation topics in this blog know that I take the conservation of our public lands very seriously. At its core is the firmly held belief that access to healthy habitat creates recreational opportunity that leads to economic activity . To that end, below are some recent articles that shine a light on the importance of our public lands and the perils of doing nothing. Each is worth a read, but more importantly each must be seen as a call to action . Todd Tanner’s post, Insidious: Let’s Stop Our Losing Streak from The Flyfish Journal and reprinted in Hatch Magazine is the strong medicine and dead on target. When you th

Folks come to Alaska from all over the world for a chance to catch a king on sport tackle, and every year the Southeast commercial troll fleet gears up for the short but intense opener to harvest these valuable fish. The largest of the Pacific salmon, the king attained historical weights approaching triple figures and is considered the sport angler’s prize fish, renowned for its fighting ability and unsurpassed as table fare. Fishing with a lighter rod will cause you to make a return trip to your local tackle store to purchase another fishing rod. In general terms of rod selection for this Rig, what you’re going to need is a min
